Kinyara Sugar Ltd officials have paid a courtesy call on Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom.
The delegation was led by the Kinyara General manager Mr Ravi Ramalingam who moved along with the company’s agriculture manager Mathivanan Masilamani and the communication manager Richard Wanok.
The officials met with the Prime Minister of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom Rt Hon Andrew Byakutaga at his office at the Kingdom chambers.
Kinyara officials appreciated BKK’ transformation efforts and the upcoming jubilee celebrations to mark 25 years since His Royal Majesty ascended the throne.
They pledged their support towards the forthcoming jubilee celebrations.
They regretted bushfires and drought that has hit the Kingdom and the Kinyara sugar estate in particular. They reported that such fires were reducing cane yields.
They appreciated the Omukama’s effort’s of mobilising his people to improve on food security and household incomes.
Kinyara donated two computers, executive chairs and tables for the office of the Prime Minister and the office of the Kingdom speaker(Omutalindwa).
The BKK premier Rt Hon Andrew Byakutaga welcomed the delegation and asked them to support the Kingdom development programs.
He said the computers and the furniture are some of the tools that will enhance the governance the Kingdom.
He asked more partners to support the various projects of the Kingdom.
KCB bank has supported the renovation of the Kingdom parliament (Orukurato) which is undergoing refurbishment.
