The Prime Minister of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom Owek. Andrew Byakutaga Ateenyi visited Kagadi hospital where he lit a campfire for health workers.
The ceremony was organized to interface with health workers and create more awareness about cultural approaches in health promotion.
Ekyoto is an ancient cultural practice in Bunyoro which is used by elders to educate the young generation about cultural values, beliefs, and traditions. It was also used as a venue for conflict resolution, moments of sadness and joy.
The Prime Minister is traversing Bunyoro to mobilize the King’s subjects to commemorate 28 years since His Royal Majesty Rukirabasaija Agutamba Dr. Solomon Gafabusa Iguru I ascended to the throne.
