Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom (BKK) has hosted officials from Uganda Breweries (UBL) who are in the region to explore business opportunities and social investments.
The officials were hosted by the Prime Minister of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom Owek. Andrew Byakutaga Ateenyi.
The BKK Chief Administrative Secretary Mr. Katusabe Alex also attended the engagement.
The UBL team was led by the Uganda Breweries Acting Managing Director Ms. Eunice Waweru who is also the company’s Finance & Strategy Director.
She was accompanied by Ms. Juliana Kaggwa, the UBL Corporate Relations Director, Mr. Kawuki Joseph, the UBL Head of Agriculture, and Mr. Balikagira Alfred, the UBL Supply Chain Director.
In the discussion, Uganda Breweries revealed their intention of supporting increased production of cassava, wheat, maize, and apples which are some of the ingredients in the making of beers and some spirits.
BKK and UBL have agreed on strategies and interventions for giving more support to farmers to enable them to improve productivity and enhance their incomes.
The Kingdom is engaging and bringing on board more strategic partners who will offer support to Kabumba’s subjects to enhance their livelihoods and improve the quality of their lives.
