Owek. Leonard Kitalibara (Omusiita Arukwera) was acting Prime Minister of Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom starting June 2001 to Jan 2002 and in his time create peace and harmony among members of the orukurato and the whole Kingdom at large.
Owek. Leonard Kitalibara worked with the Omukama of Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom, Solomon Gafabusa Iguru, to bring together all Members of Parliament from the Kingdom.
Him, working with other department’s convened four hours Members of Parliament meeting held at Karuziika Palace in Hoima Town in his time, and was attended by the Speaker of the Orukurato, Joseph Nguza Biribonwa, and the Secretary General of the Orukurato, Dr. Kihumuro Apuuli, Iguru’s saza chiefs, religious leaders and special advisers.
During his life time, Kitalibara was involved in humanitarian activities from which he received a Red Cross award in 2002 and also obtained a Kabalega Medal in 2016 for his exemplary service to this nation.
Leonard Kitalibara passed on at Hoima Regional Referral Hospital due to heart complication and he died at the age of 91.
